Why is it important to have regular gynecological exams?

Your gynecological exam is the number-one way to prevent cervical cancer through early detection, diagnosis and treatment. It's also a critical step in identifying sexually-transmitted diseases, many of which can be active long before any symptoms occur. Plus, your exam offers Dr. Beverly an opportunity to discuss your health, your lifestyle and healthy behaviors that can reduce your risk for gynecological and urinary tract diseases. It's also a great time to ask questions or discuss any concerns you have about your sexual health. Having regular exams is a proactive way to maintain great health.
